Paul Davidson Obituary
Carrollton - Paul D. Davidson Sr., age 89 of Carrollton passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Calhoun Care Center in Hardin. He was born June 11, 1934 in East Hardin, the son of Merle and Opal Bushnell Davidson. He married Barbara Baumgartner November 22, 1952 and she preceded him in death May 18, 1994.
He is also survived by three daughters, Belinda (Dennis) Gress of Hardin, Tammie (Dennis) Hiles of Portland, OR, Pamela (David) Eisch of Green Bay, WI, six sons, Rickey (Rhonda) Davidson of Jerseyville, Danny (Ava) Davidson of Rockbridge, Jerry (Linda) Davidson of Carrollton, Dickie (Adri) Davidson of Carrollton, Paul Jr. (Gary Durbin) Davidson of Glen Carbon, Marion (Becky) Davidson of Carrollton, twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, a sister, Sharon Spencer of Beardstown, a brother, Tom Davidson of Carrollton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two daughters, Susan Williams and Joy Davidson, a son, Tony Davidson, a grandson, Dickie Davidson Jr., a granddaughter, Elke Davidson, four sisters, Shirley Shaw, Doris Niemi, Betty Cunningham, and Carole Dallenbach, and a brother, Donald Davidson.
Paul grew up in Eldred on the Fairbanks farm. He graduated from Carrollton High School. He worked for Camerer Service in Carrollton, then Illinois Valley Supply in Carrollton, then Equipment Trucking Company in Winchester and retired from United Contractors Midwest in Winchester. He enjoyed fishing, family vacations, working on cars and truck etc., playing cards, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial to follow in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research or Prairie Council of Aging.
