Richard Woolsey Obituary

RICHARD E. WOOLSLEY

KANE, ILL. - Richard Eugene Woolsey, 69, born Feb. 20, 1945, in Greene County, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at the Quincy Veterans Home in Quincy, Ill.

Richard was a farmer. He had worked for IDOT and also for Olin Brass.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Bernice, nee Hetzel, Woolsey; and his three brothers, William "Pete" Woolsey, Lonnie Woolsey and Leslie Woolsey.

Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years Marilyn Woolsey, nee Thomasson whom he married on July 24, 1971; his sons, Robert Woolsey of Swansea, Ill., William Woolsey of Greenfield.; his daughter, Rachelle (Mark) Huff of Colorado Springs, Colo;, his grandchildren, Cole and Hunter Woolsey of Fieldon, Ill., and Ricky and Samantha Huff of Colorado Springs, Colo;, his sisters, Belle (Ralph) Anderson of Granite City, Ill., Carolyn (Norman) Mayberry of Cummings, Ga., Patsy (Gary) Talkington of Middletown, Ill., Shirley (Neil) Cordes of Copperapolis, Calif., and Debra Kay (Mike) Settles of Franklin Grove, Ill.; his brothers, David Woolsey of Kane, Ill., Ronnie (Rose) Woolsey of Fieldon, Ill., Hollan (Leona) Woolsey of Kane, Ill., and Bob (Debbie) Woolsey of Jerseyville. He is also survived my nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, Monday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Chuck Keene, officiating.

Burial will be in Kane Cemetery in Kane, Ill., with military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy Activities Fund Illinois Veterans Home, ATTN: Theresa Landwehr, 107 North 12th Street, Quincy, Ill., 62301, or to the Kane Baptist Church.
