Rick Williams Obituary
East Alton - Rick Williams, 68, passed away at 5:02pm on Friday, June 7, 2023, at Barnes – Jewish Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on March 9, 1956, in Alton, the son of the late George "Papa" and Shirley "Meme" (Fowler) Williams. He married the former Colleen McCoy on December 1, 1977, in Godfrey, and she survives. Other survivors include his sons: Travis and Renee Williams of Bethalto, Eric and Lindsay Williams of Rosewood Heights, Scotty (fiance' Leann Jones) of East Alton, five grandchildren: Zachary, Emily, Rosie, Maverick, Lylah, two sisters and brothers in law: Sue and Steve Brown – Nonn of Granite City, Sandy and Kevin Tharp of Bethalto, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Rick was an autobody repairman by trade and owned and operated Rick's Auto Body in Alton for forty years. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids, boating, BBQ'ing, singing, and playing his guitar.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 1pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
The family would prefer memorials to Hope Rescues in lieu of flowers and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
The family also requests casual attire.
