RICKY L. MOTT
DOW — Ricky L. Mott, 59, went home to be with the Lord at 5:08 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, with his loving family by his side, at Christian North East Hospital in St. Louis.
Born July 20, 1957 in Alton, he was a son of the late John "Jack" and Betty Mott.
Rick enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, wood working and was a collector of things, but most of all, Rick loved his 3 dogs, Jr., peanut and Pudgy very much.
He worked at Olin Corporation in East Alton until his failing health caused him to retire.
Rick married the former Susan Kay Holtorf, September 5, 1981 in Fosterburg. She survives.
Also surviving are, three sisters, Wanda and Bill Miller of Worden, Diane and Don Cox of Dorsey, Sandy and Raymond Agney of East Alton; five brothers, Wesley "Gene" Smith of Cottage Hills, Kevin and Carol Mott of Alton, Terry and Beth Mott of Wood River, Denny and April Mott of East Alton, Randy Mott of Wood River; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Mary Holtorf of Fosterburg; brothers-in-law, John Holtorf of Fosterburg, Michael and Marci Holtorf of White Hall, Jim and Melissa Holtorf of Wood River; three sisters-in-law, Wendy Holtorf of Fosterburg, Sherry Holtorf of Dow, Nancy and Don Slaughter o Dow; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents and two nieces.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated.
A life celebration will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
Memorials may be made to his wife in lieu of flowers.
