Robert Reis Obituary

ROBERT LEWIS REIS

CYPRESS, CALIF. - Bob Reis passed away June 3, 2014, at his home in Cypress, Calif. He was born in Wood River, Ill. on Jan. 1, 1928, the son of Walter H. Reis and Katherine Wilken Reis, formerly of Alton, Ill. and later of Anaheim, Calif.

Bob graduated from Alton High School in 1946. He attended Blackburn College and graduated in 1951 with a degree in chemistry.

In 1950, Bob married his Alton High School sweetheart, Mary Ann Eccles, who also attended Blackburn with him. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage.

Upon graduation from college, he was employed as a chemist at Olin Mathieson of East Alton.

In 1959, Bob accepted a position with the Purex Corporation in St. Louis, Mo. and moved his family to Anaheim, Calif. He worked for the Purex Corporation as a chemist and in marketing until he retired in 1990.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann and children, Rebecca Presley of Anaheim, Calif., David Reis of Cypress, Calif. and Barbara Schlosberg, and son-in-law Marc Schlosberg of Leawood, Kans. He is also survived by his sister, Myrna Reis Cina, formerly of Alton, and now Menifee, Calif.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Rachael and Sarah Schlosberg of Leawood, Kans. and Jason Holt and great-grandson, Joshua, of Boise, Idaho.

Bob will be greatly missed by all of us, but we feel fortunate to have had him in our lives as long as we did.

A service was held on June 6, at Forest Lawn in Cypress, Calif.
