RUDOLPH 'RUDY' MINZER
ALTON — Rudolph "Rudy" Charles Minzer, 88, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at home.
He was born on May 20, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Andrew and Winona (Moeller) Minzer.
He was a carpenter for the Olin Corp. for 22 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and also enjoyed fishing and reading.
He is survived by three children, Donna Butcher of California, Jeff (Laura) Minzer of Springfield, Illinois, and Jeanne (Tom) Grossheim of Alton, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Michael, Brandon, Lindsey, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Gianna Grossheim, Lachlan and Quinn Minzer.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his spouse Amanda Faye; two children Cathy and John Minzer; and two siblings, Stewart and Winona Minzer.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
Memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses.

I worked with Rudy at Olin for many years. There was nobody like Rudy. Rest in piece my friend. Sympathy goes out to the family my condolences.
