Russell E. Keagy
CARLINVILLE
Russell E. Keagy , 85, of Carlinville passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville, Ill.
Russell was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Beaver County, Pa., a son of John and Pearl (Arnett) Keagy. Russell married Norma Klaus Sept. 17, 1950.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Keagy; and a brother, James Martin Keagy.
Surviving are his wife; Norma Keagy of Carlinville; sons, Dwayne (Karen) Keagy of Carmel, Ind., and John (Tricia) Keagy of East Alton; and a granddaughter; Sophie Anne Keagy of Carmel, Ind.
Russell graduated from Carlinville High School as a member of the class of 1948. After graduating Russell farmed in Bird and Western Mound Twps., retiring in 1992, and enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, and traveling and was a member of the Rockbridge United Methodist Church. Russell was member of the Macoupin County Farm Bureau, Macoupin County Historical Society, Plainview Masonic Lodge #461, M&M Shrine Club, and the Ansar Shrine. Russell was also a Past Master of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #445, Past Patron Agnes Wickfield Chapter #447 Order of the Eastern Star, Past High Priest of the Macoupin Royal Arch Masons Chapter #187, Past Illustrious Master of the Carrollton Council #48, and Past Commander of St. Omer Commandery #30. At a State Level Russell served as a Grand Sentinel of the Grand Council and Grand Steward of the Royal Arch Masons. Russell was also a member of the Knights of the York Cross of Honor and served as a chairman of the Macoupin County ASC for several years.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday Jan. 3, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, Ill. Masonic Service will be held following the visitation. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Burial will take place in Chesterfield Cemetery following the funeral service
Memorials may be made to the Rockbridge United Methodist Church or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
