Tobin Harris Obituary
TOBIN HARRIS
ALTON — Tobin Richard Harris, 25, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center.
Born Aug. 1, 1992, he was the son of Valorie (Robbins) Harris (Susan Kidder) of Alton and Mark Harris (Corinne) of Alton.
Tobin was proud of his work with the City of Alton Parks and Recreation Department maintaining the parks.
Along with his parents he is survived by his "little man" and son, Wyatt Richard Downey of Godfrey, maternal grandparents, Kay and Richard Robbins of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, his great aunt, Nina Madison, who was like a grandmother to him, his Uncle Eric and Aunt Nancy Harris, his Aunt Vanessa and Uncle Dan North and his cousins, Jessie, Josh, Alex, Drew, Samantha and Randy. and lots of friends from all walks of life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Kathryn Harris.
Tobin was big-hearted and generous, charming and funny, and never met a stranger. He was adventurous and had a little "Eddie Haskell" in his personality, which could be endearing. He cared deeply about his family and friends. Toby was so loved and will be so missed.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Jon Davis will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Alton Area Habitat for Humanity.

Val and Mark, we are so sorry to hear of Toby's passing. Eric is calling Arlo as I write. Toby and Arlo had some very wonderful, fun times together, and Toby was one of those great childhood friends that will continue to bring us all joy, even in his absence, of the great memories we have of him. We feel so bad for you, and when we saw the news in the Advantage today, we were really sorry. We will hold the family up in prayer. I occasionally saw Toby on the job in our area on my runs, and he was always so talkative and very proud of his son. Such a nice young man.
