Albin Raguckas Obituary

Albin A. Raguckas, 79, of Sterling Twp., formerly of Covington Twp., passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the widower of Catherine Jane "Kitty" (Bierling) Raguckas, who passed away on July 5, 2019. The couple was married on Feb. 23, 1963, in Primos, Pa.

Albin was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill. Continuing his education, Albin earned his undergraduate degree from Drexel University and his master's in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He owned and operated Analytical Engineering Associates and Raguckas Realty.

Albin was a member of the Church of St. Catherine of Siena. He was an avid runner and enjoyed skiing in the winter. Along with his family as his crew, he drove his race car competitively in Sports Car Club of America sanctioned events. Albin's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially when attending and cheering for his kids in all of their sporting events.

Albin is survived by his children, Martin Raguckas and his wife, Gennifer, of Fogelsville; Suzanna Adams and her husband, Benjamin, of Sterling Twp.; Stephen Raguckas and his wife, Ellen, of Elmhurst; David Raguckas, of Allentown; Katherine Flynn and her husband, Brian, of Odessa, Fla.; James Raguckas and his wife, Sarah, of Rockford, Mich.; and Christina Scartozzi and her husband, Matthew, of Birdsboro; his grandchildren, Heather, Ilene, Amber, Jordyn, Nathan, Sydney, Brody, Dylan, Addisen, Kylie, Ryder and Sofie; his four great-grandchildren; his brother, Michael Raguckas; and his sister, Judy Gomolka and her husband, Steven. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Raguckas; and his brother, John Raguckas.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 8, at 9:30 a.m. from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Catherine of Siena, 220 Church St. in Moscow. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Thursday, July 8, from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m., both at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to North Pocono Food Pantry or a charity of your choosing. Sorry to hear about the death of Al. I accidentally read obituary. I worked for him 4 years and I learned a lot from Al. The last time I saw him was skiing at Camelback Lodge with my children.
