Our hearts break for you! Praise God He holds our tears in a bottle. There is a time for mourning but God will bring beauty for ashes. Right now I hear Edna saying, "He knows all about it..." so cast your anxiety upon Him because He cares for you. I plan to go into the storage locker and find photos of our times together. Happy times because this reality is too heavy to bear. It has been a week of memories flooding my mind. She left us too soon! We love you, Dorothy and Bruce, boys, now young men, Nathaniel and Isaiah. God's supernatural peace be yours always.

"Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me. I am weary with my crying; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God . . . Hide not Thy face from Thy servant; for I am in distress. Make haste to answer me. Draw near to me." (From Psalm 69)

I'm not one to purposely share my deeper emotions publicly, and it would be impossible to express everything I'm feeling. However, I am hoping I can bring a small measure of comfort to others sharing some of the grief.

It has been difficult to comprehend that I have lost a best friend, a soul sister, and my adventure buddy. I have been struggling to understand that I will never see or talk to her again. I think about the future plans we've discussed and she is always supposed to be there; a traveling companion, a bridesmaid, a free babysitter, the life of the party. I am being forced to accept the fact that I will have to experience these milestones of life for the both of us.

She loved being a nurse in the ICU and shared dreams of becoming a travel nurse in order to see a little bit more of the world. I would always tell her to include where I am, so that we could work together again. She was one of the most forgiving, accepting, tolerant people I knew, and she was so full of life. Her amazing wit and unending good humor are unforgettable. I am a better person for having known her. Witnessing all of the lives she has touched from being such a genuinely good person, she inspires me even now. I am left with needing the faith to believe that she will always be watching over her friends and loved ones, until we meet again.

You'll always be in my heart.

To the liveliest girl I have ever known,
I already miss you liking my ridiculous posts on Facebook. I already miss seeing that you commented. I already miss being able to message you. I'm so lucky that I got to spend parts of my childhood with you, most certainly shaping me to who I am today. I can't say I'm not who I am without you or any of our friends. If I've learned something from you, it's to always be myself.

You will be forever missed. And I'll never understand it.
