Andrew John Sisko, 83, of Carbondale, died Thursday at the Carbondale Nursing Home after an illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Mican.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Andrew A. and Catherine Zurine Sisko, he was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion Post 221, Carbondale, the VFW Post 4712, Simpson, and the American Legion Post 665, Dickson City. Andrew, along with his wife, owned and operated Sisko's Café, a fixture in downtown Carbondale for decades. He was also an avid golfer, always looking forward to being able to hit the links.
Also surviving are a son, Andrew Sisko and fiancée Ruth, Carbondale; two grandsons, Andrew and Keegan Sisko; a sister, Catherine Stanton and husband Michael, Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson. Friends may call Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale. All those attending the funeral Tuesday are asked to go directly to the church.
