Anna Laube Flatz

Anna Laube Flatz, 95, of Clarks Summit, died Sunday at home. She was the wife of Hugo E. Flatz, who died Jan. 8, 2001.

Born in Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Margaret Jetzer Laube. She moved to the United States in the 1940s, became an American citizen and resided in Fort Lee, N.J., where she raised her family. Anna moved to Scranton in 2000 to be closer to loved ones. She was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed entertaining, cooking, baking, knitting and being with family and friends.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Elan Gardens for all the dedicated care given to Anna.

Surviving are a son, Chris Flatz and wife, Ginny, Syosset, N.Y.; two daughters, Erika Guy and husband, Doug, Pittsboro, N.C.; and Patty Alperin and husband, Jim, Clarks Summit; six grandchildren, Christopher, Connor, Kristin, Lucas, Andrew and Rebecca; a sister, Martha Muller, Switzerland; a brother, Osy Laube, New Jersey; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Bachli; and three brothers, Hans, Otto and Pius Laube.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green. Interment will be in Dunmore Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. All those attending the Mass are asked to gather at the church on Wednesday at 9:45.
