Barbara H. Janiszeski, 95, of South Scranton, passed peacefully on Friday evening at Allied Hospice Center, Scranton. She was the widow of retired USAF Chief Master Sgt. Norbert D. Janiszeski, who passed in 1970.
Born in Japan, she was the daughter of the late Kaichiro and Tsuchi Yamamoto. Educated in Japan, she had been employed at Penn Furniture and Decorations Unlimited as a seamstress, working with interior designers. Barbara was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish, South Scranton.
She is survived by her son, Norbert D. Janiszeski Jr., San Antonio, Texas; and her three loving daughters, Ruth Janiszeski, Scranton; Elaine Carlino and husband, Leonard, Doylestown; Susan Allan and husband, John, Shavertown; and two granddaughters, Alana and Nicole Allan.
She was predeceased by her parents and two siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at noon by the Rev. Mark DeCelles at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Ave., South Scranton. The family will receive friends in the church 10 a.m. to noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to St. Paul of the Cross Parish, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton 18505. Interment will follow in Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Davis Street, Scranton.
