Barbara Lees Rogers, 86, of Shavertown, has gone on to her new home in heaven to be with our Lord. She died on Nov. 14, 2021, at the Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born April 25, 1935, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Helen (Naumann) Lees. She was a 1953 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was employed by the Scranton Dry Goods Credit Office, the Rueben H. Donnelly Corporation and after raising her children, she was employed by the Dallas School District Food Service.
She was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a deacon of the church. She also served on several committees along with being a member of the prayer shawl ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Walter R. Rogers, in 2008. Surviving are her daughters, Mari Johnson and husband, Brian, Trucksville; and Linda Baines and husband, Lewis, Wyoming; grandchildren, Bradley Johnson and wife Airika, of Newport News, Va.; Megan Morgan and husband, Tyler, of Shavertown; Eric Baines and wife, Kori, of Greencastle; and Stephanie Baines and boyfriend, Eric Stroup, of LaFayette, N.Y. She also has a 3-year-old great-granddaughter, Harper Linlee Baines, Greencastle; brother, James N. Lees and his wife, Carol, Cherry Hill, N.J.; sister-in-law, Alma Odell, Lake Winola; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, with the Rev. Jennifer A. Baer, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Friends and relatives are invited for visitation and remembrances on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Greenbriar Assisted Living for their care and compassion where she resided since 2019.
