Beverly McVicar, 90, a resident of Glenmaura Senior Living, Moosic, and formerly of Scott Twp., died Saturday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McVicar, who died in 1998.
Born Feb. 28, 1932, daughter of the late Harry and Anne Norton Harrison, she was raised in Gerristen Beach, Brooklyn, N.Y. She moved to Staten Island, N.Y., in 1964 where she resided for 50 years before moving to Scott Twp., Pa., in 2013 where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law until moving into Glenmaura Senior Living in 2020.
Before retiring she worked at Frist Investors in New Jersey as an assistant supervisor. She was a member of Holy Child Parish while she lived in Staten Island.
She enjoyed puzzle books, shopping and spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Her daughter would like to thank Dr. Tomczyk and staff at Geisinger 65, Residential Hospice and especially Glenmaura Senior Living Memory Care staff for the love, care and compassion they showed Beverly while she resided there right up to the end.
Surviving are four children, Michael McVicar and wife, Patricia, Tennessee; Robert McVicar and wife, Diane, Pennsylvania; Kevin McVicar and wife, Deborah, New York; and Maureen Fredericks and husband, Thomas, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a nephew, William McVicar and wife, Ann Marie, New York; great-niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemary McVicar and Barbara Finkle; and a nephew, Thomas McVicar.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn. Friends may call Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I know she and Phyllis are hanging out by the side fence again, catching up. She was such a good friend and neighbor to my mom. My prayers are with you all.
