Cecelia Baronsky, 93, of Peckville, passed away Saturday at Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Leon Gilio and Steve Baronsky.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Helen Kupis Ciesielski. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.
She spent many years loving and nurturing infants from St. Joseph's Children and Maternity Center. Cecelia cared for them from birth until the day they were adopted. She was blessed with three of them becoming her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother to 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Edwina Ciesielski; uncle, Edward Kupis; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Gilio; son-in-law, Dennis Pugh; and grandson, Salvatore Gilio.
She is survived by her children, Dominick Gilio and wife, Josephine, Clarks Summit; Edward Gilio and wife, Sherrie, Lindenwold, N.J.; Christine Gilio Pugh, Peckville; Vincent Gilio, Peckville; and Stephen Baronski and wife, Michele, Peckville.
The funeral Mass will be held virtually Thursday at 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and can be viewed at YouTube channel, "Sacred Heart Peckville Pennsylvania." Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
