Cheryl A. Gavern, 55, a resident of Scranton, died Wednesday morning in Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Her husband of 35 years is James Gavern III.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary D. Walsh Tucker. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She was a local antique dealer for many years. Cheryl was a huge animal lover, great cook and baker, enjoyed the jewelry channel, and deeply loved her husband and son.
Also surviving are her son, James Gavern IV and partner, William Lewis, Wilkes-Barre; her sister, Patricia Reveillo, Scranton; three brothers, William Tucker, Scranton, Patrick Tucker, Tobyhanna, and Joseph Tucker and wife, Cheryl, Arkansas; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Tucker.
A blessing service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Michael Bryant in the August J. Haas Funeral Home Inc., 202 Pittston Ave. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
