Colin Robert Toffey

Colin Robert Toffey, 23, of Jefferson Twp., died unexpectedly Feb. 23, 2017.

Born May 20, 1993, in Scranton, he is the son of Robert and Stephanie (Toffey) Kotarba of Jefferson Twp. He was a 2011 graduate of North Pocono High School and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow. He resided for the past year and a half in Boca Raton, Fla., and worked as a water remediation technician, and recently returned home.

Colin's mother described him best as a dear, sweet, funny kind and wonderful son. He was loved by all of his family, especially his sisters who loved him beyond words and are devastated. We will forever miss his humor and smile, and his amazing bear hugs most of all. Colin loved the Steelers and fantasy football and was an excellent poker player. He battled his demons, but it never changed the fact that he was a good kid, had a good heart and we loved him with all we had.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his two sisters, Maggie McGuire, Tobyhanna; and Marin J. McGuire, Jefferson Twp.; his maternal grandmother, Marie Toffey, Moscow; and paternal grandfather, Robert Kotarba Sr., Jefferson Twp.; aunts and uncles, Eric Toffey, Covington Twp.; Sean and Lindsay Toffey, Florida; Kimberly and Lance Steckler, Ohio; Laura Kotarba, New Jersey; as well as cousins and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Toffey; and his paternal grandmother, Joan R. Kotarba, on Dec. 28, 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 220 Church St., Moscow, Pa.

Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Duffy and Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow.

Interment will be conducted at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Twp.
