Deborah M. McAllister, 66, of Spring Brook Twp., formerly of Moosic, passed away Tuesday morning at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Constantine and Dolores Dudzinski. She was a graduate of All Saints High School in Brooklyn, and Lackawanna College in Scranton. Deborah recently retired from a career in customer service. She co-operated a NASCAR retail store with her best friend and longtime partner, John Slavinski. She also ran her own food truck, way before it became trendy. She loved to read psychological thrillers, plant flowers, and collect wind chimes, sand dollars and seashells.
She is survived by her companion of 32 years, John Slavinski; son, Jeffrey and wife, Rochelle, of Spring Brook Twp.; daughter, Vanessa and fiancee, Scott Jones, of Philadelphia; son, Adam and wife, Danielle, of Glen Gardner, N.J.; her brother, Paul Dudzinski and wife, Monica, of Las Cruces, N.M.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Jessie McReady, of Phoenixville; her sisters-in-law, Jackie Davidian, of Pine Knoll Shores, N.C.; and Lisa Mattern, of Phoenixville; two grandchildren, Aubrey and Cullen McAllister; cousins, Michael and Margaret Reilly, of Blauvelt, N.Y.; several other cousins; nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey McAllister; her brother, Matthew Dudzinski; and brother-in-law, Charles McAllister.
A blessing service will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, Pa. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
