Dolores N. "Dee" Tully

1932 - 2022

Dolores N. "Dee" Tully, 89, of Olyphant, passed away Feb. 9 at Allied Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Tully, and the couple was married 58 years when he passed away in 2014.

Born April 8, 1932, in Throop, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Della Bubnitis Newman and was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant. She was a 1949 graduate of Olyphant High School and attended Anthracite Business School. She worked as bookkeeper at Business Machine Co., prior to her marriage, then paused her career to raise her children. She later worked at Polansky Bakery, Dunmore, YMCA and lastly Haddon Craftsmen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Susan Biancarelli for her excellent care of Dee throughout the latter part of her life.

She is survived by her son Joseph Jr., Chicago, Ill.; daughter, Ann Marie and her husband, Richard Rutkoski, South Abington Twp.; and her beloved cats.

In addition to her late husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan; and brother, William Newman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant, with the Rev. Scott Sterowski as celebrant. In accordance with her wishes, friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

The family requests that masks be worn for visitation and services.
