Donald Puterbaugh Obituary

Donald Earl Puterbaugh, 57, of Tunkhannock, Pa., was surrounded by his loving family as he passed away Sunday, June 12, of cancer. After receiving a liver transplant from a generous donor, he enjoyed another year of life with his family. He courageously battled another round of cancer. He and his wife would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and especially their amazing caretaker, Sarah Dorsey.

Born Sept. 6, 1958, in Meshoppen, Pa., Donald attended Tunkhannock High School. He worked as a machinist for Nepp Wire, Mercer and Arlington Industries. In his spare time, he was also a craftsman at construction, roofing and painting.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley. He got the most enjoyment spending time with family at numerous cookouts and holiday get-togethers.

Donald was preceded in death by his father, Lester Charles Puterbaugh Sr., on Feb. 1, 2013.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Grace Puterbaugh, Meshoppen; loving wife, Leann, at home; and former wife, Carole Puterbaugh; his brothers, Jim Reed, Lester Charles Puterbaugh Jr. and his companion, Ellen Durling, Meshoppen; his sister, Kim Truscott and husband, Steve, Factoryville; his brother, Terry E. Puterbaugh and companion, Luella Gates, Meshoppen; his children and grandchildren, daughter, Jenny Works and her children, Kailey, William and Erik; son, Jeremy Puterbaugh and wife, Sarah, and their children, Jordan and Madison; and son, Matthew Puterbaugh and companion, Brianna, and their children, McKenna, Shane, Sadie and Bailey; his stepchildren, John Danko and wife, Lana; Michael Danko and companion, Amber; and Steven Danko; his nieces and nephews, Jeff Puterbaugh, Jodi Lester, Shalyn Truscott, Haley Puterbaugh, Maddix and Kiana Lester; and many cousins, including special cousins, Dale Platt and Burton Miller; as well as best friend, Mack Moyer.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 State Route 6, Meshoppen. His funeral service will follow at 8 and will be officiated by Pastor Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In his honor, donations may be made to the Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.
