Edward Murray Obituary

Edward "Turkey Man" Murray, 63, of West Scranton, died Wednesday at home.

Born in Scranton, son of the late James and Mary Lou Vaughans Murray, he attended Scranton schools and was employed by anyone who could use a helping hand. He was a member of the American Ukrainian Veterans Association, the Dante Literary Society, the 20th Ward Social Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Turk was an incredible person who touched many lives. He was the life of the party and always had a smile on his face. Turk enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was an avid collector of American Indian and military memorabilia.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Fayocavitz, Scranton; Nadine Grove and husband, Kenneth, Margate, Fla.; and Christina Shenk and fiancé, Alberto Lozano, Turnersville, N.J.; nieces, Livia Gallo, Lindy Morelli, and Angela Smith; a nephew Michael Ortez; a "brother" and best friend, Henry "Te" Malone and his wife, MaryAnn; "nieces," Nicole Tallo, Mallory and Mackenzie Malone; a "nephew," Cliff Malone; great-nephews and a great-niece; his two cats, Transformer and Patches Jr.; and his "extended family," Paul Ludovici, Mike Wince, Kenneth Davis, James Tallerico Sr., James Tallerico Jr., William and Jane Masich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton, by the Rev. Sam J. Ferretti, pastor. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church the morning of the funeral. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m., in the Nicholas Chomko Funeral Home, 1132 Prospect Ave., South Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.

We used to buy each other beers down at the fort We also spoke alot at gerritys or toand from the store. I can remember allof our conversationsabout treasures you would find on your rounds.I think it was two weeks ago we were at the Fort. I think of our signal while we waited on our porches for our morning ride to work. It was Clap Clap clap.It was a crazy way to say Good Morning. My friend you will be missed.
