Eleanor Matylewicz Obituary

Eleanor A. Matylewicz, 95, of Scranton, died Wednesday morning at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Matylewicz.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Siekierka Matylewicz. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended Hahnemann Nursing School. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Deborah Flynn and her husband, Leo, Factoryville; and Denise Matylewicz, Scranton; grandchildren, Leo Flynn Jr., Dr. Matthew Flynn and Keenan Powers, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and nine brothers.

The funeral will be Monday with a blessing service at 10:30 a.m. at the Nicholas Chomko Funeral Home, 1132 Prospect Ave., Scranton. Interment to follow, St. Stanislaus Polish National Cemetery, Kane Street, Scranton.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Care Association, 312 S. Valley Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447. Arrangements by Joseph W. Sznyter, F.D.
