Elizabeth Marbach Obituary

Elizabeth L. Marbach, a resident of New Seasons Clarks Summit, died Thursday in the hospice unit of Mercy Hospital. Her husband, Robert J. Marbach, died Jan. 4, 1990.

Born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Aloysius A. and Delia Ginley Leach, she was a graduate of White Plains High school, White Plains, N.Y. She received a Bachelor of Science from Good Counsel College, White Plains; and a Master of Science from Columbia University. She was a teacher in Byram, N.Y., and a member of Our Lady of Snows Church, Clarks Summit, and St. Anthony's Church, West Harrison, N.Y., and its Holy Rosary Society.

Surviving are two sons, Robert J. and wife, Mildred Marbach, Moosic; and Richard A. Marbach, Scranton; five daughters, Elizabeth Sorrese and husband, Lewis, Pinehurst, N.C.; Ann Marbach, Guilford, Conn.; Joan M. Roskos and husband, George, Scranton; Jean Mucher and husband, Martin, Batavia, N.Y.; and Karen Crawford and husband, James, Fort Collins, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary A. Leach.

Private graveside services were held Monday at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 57 West Hillside Ave., White Plains, by Bishop Dominick Lagonegro, vicar of Orange County, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, 18509; or Mercy Hospice, 746 Jefferson Ave., Scranton, 18510.
