Esther C. (Goodin) Powanda of Peckville passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, George H. Powanda, who passed in 1993.
Born in Eynon on Sept. 12, 1929, daughter of the late Michael and Veronica Konkol Goodin, she was a graduate of Blakely High School. Before retirement, she was employed as a secretary by VanWert Stoker Manufacturing Company, Peckville.

My sincerest condolences in your loss. I always enjoyed spending time with Mr. and Mrs. Powanda when I was growing up and into my adult life. One of my favorite childhood memories was sitting on the porch gossiping about the neighborhood; mind you I was really, really little, maybe 7 going on 30, but I enjoyed it and have wonderful memories. May she rest peacefully and you all find comfort in your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of Esther's passing. I spoke with her just a couple of weeks ago and she was doing well. Esther and I shared an interest in researching our Powanda and Povanda family histories. I really enjoyed working together with her on all aspects of this research. RIP cousin Esther, I will miss you dearly!
