Florence Shylkofski, Honesdale, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Aloysius Shylkofski, who died in 1995.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Anna Mynarski Bernotsky, she has resided in Honesdale since 1964. Before retirement, she was a machine operator in various local silk mills.
She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, now Mary Mother of God Parish, and the Polish Club. As a hobby, she enjoyed crocheting.
Surviving are three sons, Al, Crawfordville, Fla.; Edward, Honesdale; and Frank and his wife, Shannon, Honesdale; four grandchildren, Angels Clark, Brian, Stephen and Steven Shylkofski; and a number of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley.
A blessing service will be held on Saturday, 11 a.m., in the Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home, 1660 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, masks will be required for entry to the funeral home and social distancing will be maintained. State requirements mandate 25 people allowed in the funeral home at one time. You may be asked to wait outside before entering.
Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
