Mr. Frank Muto, 72, passed away at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a long and courageous battle on June 12, 2021.
Born in Scranton to the late Fred Muto and Julie Yuhas Muto, he attended Throop schools and graduated in 1966 from Scranton Preparatory School. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton in 1970.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Lynn Eshmont Muto. She was the love of his life … his darling, his dove. They enjoyed summers at "Lake Franklynn," entertaining countless family members and friends, especially their annual Halloween party. He was always surrounded by his "grandchildren" who were the light of his life. He thoroughly enjoyed completing The New York Times crossword "in ink." And he was a man who was known to break a few rules, except when he did your tax return. He was a kindhearted, selfless man who touched the lives of many. Throughout his life, he was a caretaker to many of his relatives and friends. His wife's favorite expression was, "Frank, do something!"
Before his retirement, he worked for many years as an auditor for the Pa. Department of Revenue. He was a former president of the AFSCME. He acquired his CPA license and became an IT manager. He was most recently the financial secretary for Keystone UNICO. He also volunteered for many years for the Olyphant Lions Club.
He is survived by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his grandchildren.
Friends and family can pay their respects at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 17. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish/St. Patrick's Church, Delaware Street, Olyphant. Those wishing to attend the funeral service should go directly to the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Lynn,
So sorry for you loss. Although we didn´t know Frank well from what we did see he was kind and generous. My favorite memory of Frank was when we were working the polls on a November day and it was cold in the fire house. Frank offered to go home and get us a heater. You both had no idea who we were the offer came as a surprise to us. We will keep you in our prayers.

Lynn, we were so lucky to have made such special memories with you and Frank when we would visit Scranton. May you feel comfort knowing he will be "doing something" in heaven...and that´s looking after you and the family. Sending our love to you.
