George Zumbach Obituary

George M. (Shots) Zumbach, 84, a lifelong resident of Taylor, died Wednesday evening under the care of Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret "Peg" Zumbach, in 1996.

Born on April 8, 1930, son of the late Warner and Augusta Zumbach, he was a graduate of Taylor High School, class of 1947. Before his retirement, he was employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. A veteran of the Army, he was also a faithful member of the Heritage Baptist Church, South Abington Twp. He was a lifelong member and past officer in the Taylor Beneficial Society, and was a member of the Taylor Hose Company.

Lovingly called "Bach" by his family who dearly loved him, he was always there for them, regardless of the circumstance. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his gift of singing with countless audiences throughout the years. Both proud and devoted, he was a member of the St. David's Day Male Choir and the Scranton Friendly City Barbershop Chorus.

His family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Anees Fogley for the years of special care he gave to both George and Peggy. In addition, they would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Regional Hospital of Scranton for their exceptional care.

Surviving are two sons, David and wife, Sheila, Bowling Green, Ky.; and Glenn and wife, Becky, Taylor; two grandsons, Josh and wife, Diana; and Matt and fiancée, Charissa; a granddaughter, Sara; a great-grandson, Jackson; and a new great-grandchild arriving soon; his precious friend, Dotty Tyson; a brother, Carl and wife, Helen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Warner Zumbach; and a sister, Eleanor Taylor.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, to be conducted by the Rev. Glenn Amos, pastor of the Heritage Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Milwaukee Cemetery.

Glenn, David, and Families--

Although we haven't seen you in a long time, we have good memories of visiting with your dad when we would be at grandma and grandpa Zumbach's house, usually on our way out of town. Your dad was always so nice. Always so proud of you boys and your accomplishments. I hope you find comfort in your memories and your faith.

Love--
Anne and Lee Zumbach
