Georgine T. Gildea, 85, of Archbald, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, at her residence.
Georgine was born in Archbald on May 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Yolanda (Simoncini) Cappellini. She was a member of Christ the King Parish Archbald and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Archbald High School and Lackawanna Junior College. She formerly worked at Valley View Elementary School and retired from Lackawanna County Domestic Relations.
She loved watching football and rooting for the Valley View Cougars, Penn State and the Eagles. Georgine loved cooking for the holidays and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going out to dinner and entertainment with the "Girls."
The family would like to thank Interim Health Care, Allied Services Hospice and especially her personal caregivers, Karen and Carla for the loving and compassionate care.
Georgine is survived by three daughters, Sharon Gildea Wilson and Tom Wilson, Williamsport; Kathleen Teeple and husband, Jim, Archbald; and Eileen Iacaruso and husband, Anthony, Sewell, N.J.; and a son, Kevin Gildea and wife, Laurie, Binghamton.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Jimmy Teeple and wife, Michele, Sean Teeple and companion, Lauren, Adam Teeple, Jason Gildea and wife, Jessica, Corey Gildea and companion, Chelsea, Kyle Wilson and companion, Patrick, and Adriana Iacaruso; and two great-grandsons, Jackson and Jordan Gildea; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pat (Chico) and Ronald Cappellini.
The funeral will be Monday, 9:30 a.m., from the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, to be celebrated by her cousin, the Rev. William Pickard. Interment will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
Viewing will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish, 429 Church St., Archbald; or the Archbald A. C., 8 Export Lane, Archbald.
