Irene Baranowski Obituary

Irene Baranowski, 84, of Clifford Twp., died Tuesday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Her husband is Francis J. Baranowski. They were married for 59 years.

Born July 16, 1930, in Regensburg, Germany, daughter of the late Georg and Elise Ipfelkofer, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Before retirement, she worked for area dress factories. Irene grew up in Germany and married her husband in 1956. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to the casino. She was also a talented cook and baker. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Sofie, Elsa and Marile.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Hudson Street, Forest City, celebrated by the Rev. Patrick Albert. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Cremation is through the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City.
