James M. Lord, 53, of Scranton, died Saturday at his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1969, in Scranton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Hazel Gammond Lord and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He was employed by Barry Callebaut Corp. of Dunmore, and was previously employed by Price Chopper in Dunmore for over 35 years.
Jim loved to cook, and was known as a wonderful host of many parties, at which he was master of the megaphone. His sense of humor was unmatched. He was a big movie fan, especially horror and comedies, as well as heavy metal music. Jim will be dearly missed by nearly all who knew him.
Surviving are his sisters, Barbara Gataveskas and husband, John, Jefferson Twp.; Lynn McMillen and Karen Jacoby, both of Crystal River, Fla.; brother, Larry Lord and wife, Rose, of Scranton; dear nephew, Michael Wysocki, of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Arthur Lord, in 2021; his brothers-in-law, Robert Jacoby Sr. and Gary McMillen; and nephew, Robert Jacoby Jr.
A private memorial service will be conducted by his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
