Janet Cuthbertson Obituary

Janet Cuthbertson, formerly of North Scranton, died Thursday morning in the Golden Living Center, Wilkes-Barre, after an illness; she was the widow of Leonard Cuthbertson, who died in 1980.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas and Ada Alexander Tapp, she was a binder at Specialty Printers prior to retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Janet was a noted soprano vocalist and was a gifted decorator of all type of cakes.

Surviving are a son, Thomas and wife, Jean Marie, Auburn, Va.; a daughter, Joyce and husband, John Lysiak, Shickshinny; two grandchildren, Thomas and Catherine Cuthbertson; a great-grandson, Kellan Cunningham, born Jan. 13; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home Inc., 1660 N. Main Ave., with Mass in the Church of the Good Shepherd at 11 by the Ven. Howard Stringfellow. Interment, private at the convenience of the family in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call today, 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd.

To Janet's family, Janet was a precious person. Very friendly and kind. Whenever she went down the hall when she looked in my mom's room where I was visiting she may stop to talk or just say hi. Whenever she had candy she would always be giving it to anyone who went by. I'm glad I had the privilege to know her. I will miss her. Lori Heck
