Joan Percival, 83, of Throop, died Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton following a lengthy illness.

Born in Susquehanna, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Susan Mazzatta Percival. A graduate of Throop High School, before retirement she was employed in the local garment industry.

Surviving are brothers, Nicholas, Scranton, Richard and wife, Terry, Maryland, and Michael and wife, Joanne, Throop; sister, Maria Larioni and husband, John, Dickson City; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brother, John Percival; sisters, Catherine McCormick, Romayne Charney and Patty Percival; and sister-in-law, Carole Percival.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Parish, 215 Rebecca St., Throop. Interment in Dunmore Cemetery will be private.
