John "Jack" T. Bell Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at his Myrtle Beach, S.C. residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Scranton, Pa., Jack was the son of the late John T. Bell Sr. and Ann Marie (Battaglia) Bell. He loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Jack was a big fan of Penn State, Steelers football and NASCAR. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling and loved to bowl. A proud United States Army veteran, Jack served in Germany for three years. He was a retired truck driver and bus driver. After retirement, Jack worked as a security guard which he loved doing. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother, James "Jimmy" Bell; and his sister-in-law, Michelle Bell.
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Mary Ann (Hoynowski) Bell, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughters, Roxann (Brian) Mauro, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Christina (Tom) O'Neill, Ashland, Ohio; son, John Bell III, Dickson City, Pa.; stepsons, Raymond (Dawn) Mercado, Throop, Pa.; Michael (Stacy) Mercado, Peckville, Pa.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Diane) Bell, Throop, Pa.; Frank Bell, Dickson City, Pa.; sisters, Ann Marie (Raymond) Grimes, Conway, S.C.; Cynthia (Darren) Pilarz, Lake Ariel, Pa.; sister-in-law, Debbie Bell, Piedmont, S.C.; Joyce (Paul) Sweeney, Scranton, Pa.; brother-in-law, Albert (fiancée, Karen) Hoynowski, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; cousin (more like a brother) James Reese, Dunmore, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
Jack was a kind and generous person who touched the lives of all he met. He will be deeply missed by all, especially his family.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
