John Ord Obituary

John "Jack" W. Ord, 81, of Hallstead, Pa., passed away on Dec. 6, 2021, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Endwell, N.Y., after an extended illness. He was born on May 19, 1940, in Scranton, Pa., to the late William T. Sr. and Elizabeth M. (Wickizer) Ord. His wife of 54 years, Patricia (Lazuka) Ord, survives.

Also surviving are son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Justine Ord; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer L. and Christopher McLoone; four grandchildren, Zachary Ord and companion, Natasha Van Gorder; Owen, Sean and Ian McLoone; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Rodney Oakley; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Martha Ord; sister-in-law, Audrey Ord; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William T. Ord Jr.

Jack was the former chairman, president and CEO of Peoples National Bank. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 445 for more than 50 years, a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and Lions Club, Jack also served on the Boy Scout Council for Baden Powell. He loved to listen to all types of music and he had a lovely singing voice. Jack and his wife enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Church, 430 N. Seventh Ave., Scranton, Pa., with Father Myron Myronyuk officiating. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, Pa. Friends may call on the family from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, Pa.

Donations in Jack's name can be made to: St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Scranton, PA; or the American Cancer Society.
