John Anthony Racht (Jack), beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, unexpectedly entered his final rest on June 4, 2023, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Fla.
He was born in Dickson City, Pa. on Oct. 30, 1933, to John Jacob Racht and Mary Christine Adamitis Racht. John was endearingly known as Jack, Dad, Grandpa, Gramps and GG-Pa to his family and friends.

Jack enjoyed his road trips to New England, Alabama, and his last 11 years living in Sarasota, Fla., with Dorothy. A quiet but formidable man, he was known for his quick wit and sly smiles.
Jack was predeceased by his ex-wife, Dorothy Fitt Racht; and he is survived by their five children, John (Sharon Drake) Racht, Linda (Mike) Chorba, Judith (Paul) Bailey, Nancy (Sosnowski) (John) Bogdanovicz and Janet (Kevin, dec. 2005) Johnson.
