John Repa Obituary

John Irvin "Pop" Repa, 87, of Susquehanna and formerly of Gouldsboro, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He was the widower of the former Jean Marie (Jackson) Repa, who passed away on March 12, 2018, and the couple was married for 57 years.

Born in Richlandtown, he was the son of the late John Jr. and Myrtle (Hagen) Repa. John graduated from Quakertown High School in 1952. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and held life memberships and served as an officer in both the American Legion Post 274 in Gouldsboro and VFW Post 5207 in Daleville.

John owned his own truck and for most of his life, delivered new automobiles, driving for seven different companies, the last one being M&G Convoy, a division of Ryder Systems. Throughout his travels, John extensively photographed his destinations, the cars he carried and anything he found of interest along the roadside.

He also enjoyed metal detecting, volunteering many hours setting up treasure hunts and was a member and officer of the Federation of Metal Detectors for more than 29 years. John also held memberships in the NRA, GOA and the Pa. Pistol and Rifle Association.

John is survived by his children, Linda Alt and her partner, Ed Miller, of Gouldsboro; John P. Repa and his wife, Kathy, of Starrucca; Richard Repa and his wife, Dawn, of Susquehanna; Karen Yockey and her husband, Robert, of Avoca; his sisters, Phyllis Donahue Maroney, of Cary, N.C.; and Nancy Lang and her husband, John, of Essex Junction, Vt.; his grandchildren, Jessica, Valerie, Daniel, Robert, Ashley, Matthew, Erin, Christopher, Kyle, Ryan and Jayme; and his great-grandchildren, Tyler, Aurora, Robert Jr., Ellie and Henry. John was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Larissa.
