John Spryn, 96, of Peckville died Saturday at Serenity Care in Peckville. He was the husband of the late Marie Elkins Spryn, who died March 19, 2015.
Born in Monongah, W.V., son of the late Nickolas and Sophia Pitroski Spryn. He was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant and was a graduate of Dickson City High School class of 1945. Prior to retirement he worked at Valley View Elementary School.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Kay, Ann, Olga, Delores, Vera, Helen and Mary; and brothers, Michael and George.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 River St., Olyphant with Divine Liturgy celebrated by Father Myron Myronyuk. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions can be sent to SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 River St., Olyphant, PA. Arrangements by the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, Peckville.
