Joseph Abda Obituary
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph II and Marie Dominick Abda, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He was a mechanic for 30 years and owned and operated Abda's Garage in Dunmore.
He was an avid New York Jets fan, enjoyed camping, target shooting at the gun range and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed coaching his two sons in Little League when they were younger. He will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are sons, Joseph, Dunmore; and Nicholas, Scranton; his former wife, Maria Patriarco Abda, Scranton; sisters, Kim Santarsiero and husband, Billy; and Kathy Harrity and husband, Kirk, all of Dunmore; an aunt, Jeanette Bouselli; nieces and nephews, Kaylee and Kyle Harrity, and Anthony and Lexi Santarsiero; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and numerous cousins.
He was also preceded in death by an aunt, Barbara Dominick.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 130 St. Frances Cabrini Ave., Scranton. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, West Scranton.

Sorry to hear of Joe's passing.Had many of great times with him in our younger years.It was always a pleasure hanging out at the lanes,playing pool,or out getting a bite to eat with Joe.I shared a locker in are senior year with him which i thought would be a disaster,but it turned out to be alright.Not sure he would agree but i believe it made us closer.My thoughts and prayers are with his loved one's during this difficult time.Rest in peace my great friend.
