Joseph F. Demkosky of Throop died Tuesday at home. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marie T. Ratchford-Demkosky.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late Joseph C. and Mary Elizabeth Wyandt Demkosky, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School. He was a member of St. Paul's Parish, Scranton. Prior to retirement, he was a carpenter for the A.J. Guzzi Co. He achieved 50 years of dedicated service to the United Carpenters and Joiners of America local union 445. He was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter, golfer and bowler.

Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryil A. Demkosky, Dunmore, and partner, Donald Egan; a son, Joseph F. Demkosky Jr. and partner, Pamela Beynon, Florida; and a granddaughter, McKenzie Demkosky, Carbondale.

The funeral will be Monday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. The family welcomes donations to the ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002, in memory of Joe.
