Joseph Lorenzetti Obituary

Joseph Paul Lorenzetti, 84, of Olyphant, formerly of Eynon, died Saturday at Dunmore Health Care Center.

Born in Eynon, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Costanza Moregi Lorenzetti. He was a graduate of Archbald High School and a Navy veteran during the Korean War. After the war, he was employed as an airplane mechanic, and later was a greeter at Wal-Mart.

Joe was as tough as they come, when he had to be, but set him loose in Disney World and the child in him never failed to come out. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed crafting his own fishing rods and lures. In his last months, he came to adore his great-grandchild, Giordan, who returned Joe's love and then some. He believed in living life as large as possible, and his grandchildren in particular will always remember his urging them to "live large."

Surviving are a daughter, Clare Lorenzetti, Italy; granddaughters, Gessica Grossi, Giselle Meagher, Giada Grossi and Guendalina Grossi; and great-grandchild, Giordan; and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Cacciamani.

The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with a blessing service at 11 a.m. Interment, Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

We are shocked and saddened to hear of Joe's death. We were Joe's neighbors in Florida for 20 years. He was a good neighbor and friend, and we will always remember his friendly smile and big laugh. His little dog Rascal was a favorite of everyone in the neighborhood and we all enjoyed seeing the two of them on their daily walks. Our deepest sympathies to his granddaughters and all his family.
