Joseph L. Renaldi, 73, of Taylor, went to be with his Lord on Feb. 4, 2021. Surviving are his loving wife, Lynne P. Renaldi; and his devoted son, Joseph C. Renaldi; uncles, aunts and cousins whom he loved dearly. His late parents were Lawrence and Ann Renaldi of Dunmore/Peckville.
Joe was a former member of United Baptist Church, Taylor. The last 25 years he was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Clarks Summit. He was a member of the Taylor Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Johnson School Alumni, PSEA, PSERS and Beacon ABF at Heritage Baptist Church.
He was a United States Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. Joe was a proud American who always displayed the American flag. When he met a service member he always said, "Thank you for your service."
Joe graduated from Dunmore High School, Johnson School, attended Penn State Worthington and graduated from Marywood College with a BS degree and a master's equivalency in special education. He was a teacher for NEIU 19. His last years were at Jefferson Center in Dunmore. He taught 12- to 21-year-old severe and profound special needs students. His love for them was immense. These were the students he was meant to teach.
Joe enjoyed shooting pool with his teammates in his pool league, going to the gym, swimming in his pool and going to baseball games. He also enjoyed going to car shows and the Carlisle auction with his friend Jerry Coffee. Most of all, he loved his cats. They brought so much joy to his life!
You may not have known Joe, but if you went to a Riverside football game and bought a ticket from a gentleman who gave you a lollipop - that was Joe. He always had lollipops with him and passed them out, with permission, to children at the grocery store or restaurant - that was Joe. Adults were given a pop, too! His big generous spirit knew no bounds.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Heritage Baptist Church.
Lynne and Joseph want to thank the doctors and nurses at Geisinger CMC ICU for the dedicated and compassionate care they gave him. They also want to thank everyone who called, texted, sent cards and provided meals. Your love and concern for us is a blessing we will never forget.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Joseph L. Renaldi Memorial Fund, c/o Lynne Renaldi at home, or to the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, PA 18517. Donations will be given to Joe's favorite charities.

Lynne & Joseph Jr.: I was shocked to see that Joe had passed onto Eternal Life. My deepest sympathy goes out to you & your son. I went to Marywood College w/ Joe, when he was still dating you. He was very proud he was dating a Teacher & spoke highly of you. I also taught w/ Joe @ Jefferson Center. He was a wonderful Teacher & cared deeply for his students. May God hold you, Joseph Jr., the rest of his extended family & friends in the palm of His hand until you meet again.
