Judy Wombacker, 76, of Jefferson Twp., passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She was the widow of Robert W. Wombacker, who passed away in 2008, and the couple was married for 42 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Barber) Bomersheim. Judy graduated from North Pocono High School in 1964, worked as a seamstress at Rita's Sportswear and, before retiring, worked at Gertrude Hawk. As an avid animal lover, she loved cats and enjoyed sitting on her front porch, watching hummingbirds.
Judy is survived by her children, Bobby "Boomer" Wombacker, of Scranton; Daniel Wombacker, of Lake Ariel; Amy Wombacker, of Gouldsboro; and Tara Wombacker Miller, of Elmira, N.Y.; her siblings, Harry Bomersheim, Joe Bomersheim, Nancy DePew and Jean Werner; her grandchildren, Brittney, Alexis, Keira, Christian and Abbi; her great-granddaughter, Leia; and her many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Fairview Memorial Park, 111 State Route 435, Elmhurst Twp. Interment will follow in the park.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services LLC, Spring Brook Twp.
