Karen Bartkovsky Fiscus of Scranton passed away Thursday at home.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Vincent J. and Dolores Bobrowski Bartkovsky. Karen attended St. Mary's School in Dickson City and Bishop O'Hara High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton.

Karen spent her career years in sales. She was an accomplished sales professional across many different industries, working for companies that included The Scranton Times-Tribune, Ferring Pharmaceuticals and the Marriott.

Karen's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. She also loved traveling and took great pride in her cooking and baking. She especially looked forward to hosting family gatherings on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Karen left us all much too soon, but we will keep her memory alive by carrying on the tradition that she loved. Her kind soul and loving spirit will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her children, Zach, Olivia and Luke Fiscus, all of Scranton; brother, Vincent Bartkovsky, Dickson City; sisters, Laura Brown and husband, Paul, Scranton; Ruth Tetreault and husband, Dave, Williamsburg, Va.; Janet Watson and husband, George, Dickson City; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects starting at 9 a.m. until the start of the Mass, at the church. It is asked that guests please wear masks when paying their respects to the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted and are under the care of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Treatment Court Advocacy Center, d/b/a the Recovery Bank, located at 120 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.

Our deepest sympathies. We will try to be there Thursday but I (Michael) just had knee surgery on Monday and I am still not able to get out. Play it by ear for Thursday.
