Kevin Scanlon, 69, of Carbondale, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.
Born in New York City, and a resident of Queens for many years, he was the son of the late Daniel Scanlon and Renee Earyes Farrell Scanlon. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, and a 1972 graduate of Springfield Garden High School, Queens, N.Y. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a computer programmer for Verizon in Manhattan. He was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed horse racing and going to Off Track Betting. His greatest pleasure was hosting the yearly pilgrimage for his friends from New York.

Surviving are a brother, Robert Scanlon, Carbondale; a nephew; and special friends and neighbors who became like family, Michael and Karen Monahan.
The funeral will be Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Entombment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Mausoleum, Finch Hill.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. to Mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.
