Leonard J. Winslow, 89, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, Jan. 13, 2022. His wife of 61 years, Shirley (Pavuk) Winslow, died in November of 2019.
Leonard grew up in Pittston and was the son of the late George and Helen Winslow. He served in the United States Army after high school. Before his retirement, he worked at PP&L in Dunmore where he was a diesel mechanic for most of his career. Leonard was the ultimate handyman and spent much of his retirement fixing things and tending his garden. He was a parishioner of All Saints Church and later St. Mary of Mount Carmel in Dunmore.
Surviving are his son, Kevin Winslow and wife, Christine, Reading; daughter, Michele Winslow, Olyphant; son, Darren Winslow and wife, Melissa, Elmhurst Twp.; grandchildren, Michael Winslow, Stephanie (Winslow) Berardi, Jennifer Diehl, Joshua Winslow and Megan Winslow.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the compassionate nurses and staff at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
A viewing for family and friends will take place Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop. All are asked to please follow social distancing guidelines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. All those attending Mass are asked to go directly to the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510 or at www.hospicesacredheart.org.
