Mary Jane (Van Aken) Reddon, of Susquehanna, Pa., and Naples, Fla., joined her heavenly father on May 20, 2023. She was greeted by her beloved husband, Robert; daughter, Denise; son, Edward; sister, Ruth and brother-in-law, Gene Price; and parents, Susan and Edward.
She is survived by her large and loving family, Kathleen Reddon, Frank and Laura Reddon, Roberta and Jim Sickles, Robert and Brenda Reddon; and daughter-in-law, Terry Reddon. Her grandchildren adored her: Chris and Rebeka, Kevin and Kelly, Sarah and Sean, Tim, Jon and Kayla, Dan and Christie, Tom (TJ), Ashlee, Nolan, Bob and Casi, Lauren, and Bill and Katie. Mary Jane, Gigi, was also blessed with many great-grandchildren. She was cherished by her nieces and nephews Susan, Rachael, Kevin and Ray.
Mary Jane embraced her faith as an active member of St. Martin's and St. John's and her dedication touched members of her prayer group and the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth. Her commitments extended to other civic and community programs as both a member of the Chemical Engine Ladies' Auxiliary and a school board member prior to her school board presidency.
Her love of life included so many passions. As an avid sports fan and athlete, Mary Jane bowled and played softball while also sounding the cowbell loud and clear for her children and the Sabers. And, as a lifelong golfer and lover of the game, she appeared on the leaderboard at Golden Oak, Vestal Hills and Royal Palm. Three hole-in-one shots clinched her golf glory. Food and shopping supplied Mary Jane with vast and countless varieties of style and taste, a true foodie and shop-o-holic. Topping the list of passions, her contagious joy was shared with visits from her many loved ones in both Pennsylvania and Florida. A favorite quote from admirers, "I want to be just like Mary Jane when I grow up!" She touched so many people with happy hugs, hilarious humor and an honest heart.
