Mary Ann McCusker Tomeo passed away peacefully Monday, July 17, surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 30, 1939, in her Baba's bed to Harold and Marie McCusker. She was a graduate of Blakely High School where she was a cheerleader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harold McCusker Jr.; and her husband, Michael J. Tomeo.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Brown (Robert), Carolyn Perez (Dale), Michael Beckage (Teri), James (Lisa), Jeff (Laura) and Tom; also, eight grandchildren, Adam, Rebecca, Danielle, Bobby, Christopher, Elizabeth, Ryan and Ashley; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, Bonnie and Catherine.
Mary Ann had a zest for life. She enjoyed camping with her husband Mike, traveling abroad and dancing.
Mary Ann was a talented chef. She worked at several rectories. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and knitting.
She was an avid football fan of the Chicago Bears. She enjoyed watching games with her family as everyone loved different teams.
She was affectionately known as "T" and loved having everyone at her table.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Sheerer, Dr. James Nicholas Dodge, the staff at Green Ridge Nursing Home and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Viewing will be Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton. Mass will follow immediately after. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
