Matthew R. Casciano, 67, of Scranton, died Thursday at home. He and his wife, the former Brenda Sakevich, celebrated 17 years of marriage.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Matthew Sr. and Velma Holmes Casciano, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School and had been employed as a stadium foreman within the Scranton School District. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankee fan who also enjoyed movies, playing guitar and his Dunkin. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he adored his family, and always put them first. He will be sadly missed.
Also surviving are daughters, Cara Kohl and husband, Jeremiah, Dickson City; Jessica Casciano, Scranton; and Kelly Casciano, Pennsylvania; son Matthew Casciano, Pennsylvania; stepsons, Jeff Bell and wife, Candace, Scranton; Michael Bell and wife, Patricia, Jefferson Twp.; and Timothy Bell and wife, Jennifer, Carbondale; 11 grandchildren; his sisters, Sarah Casciano, Florida; Lois Orr and husband, Robert, Clarks Summit; and Arlene Gisolfi, Pennsylvania; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Powell; brother, Thomas Scaramastro; and son-in-law, Rikki Cummings.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton, Carl J. Savino, supervisor. A blessing service will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
