Michael Holleran, 70, Dunmore, a longtime resident of St. Joseph's Center, died Thursday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Aloysius and Margaret Gard Holleran and attended NEIU 19 Jefferson School in Dunmore. Later in life, he was part of St. Joseph's Center Adult Day Program in Dunmore until his retirement. Michael enjoyed watching Disney movies and listening to country music. He loved having company and especially enjoyed his visits with his brother, Joe. He will be missed by his family and his extended family at St. Joseph's Center. Michael was a resident in St. Joseph's Bellman Street group home for 26 years before moving to the Main Center in 2020.

Surviving are a brother, Joe Holleran, Dunmore and a sister, Shirley Holleran of Scranton, and several nieces and nephews. Michael's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Geisinger CMC's ICU and to the staff of St. Joseph's for their loving care of Michael.

A blessing service will be held Friday at noon in St. Catherine's Cemetery Chapel in Moscow. Interment will follow.
